I have been taking a closer look and trying to learn more about these fascinating little birds, their feathers reveal important information about their status.
“Young male Superb Fairy-Wrens will moult from their breeding plumage into ‘eclipse’ plumage at the end of the breeding season, around March/April. They become grey/brown, similar to the females, but keep the blue tail and black beak.
